How did you get started in the profession?

  • I started the trade with my father at the age of 19, making clothes for a small family business.

How many years have you been sewing?

  • In the sewing sector I specify 11 years

What products do you make the most?

  • Women's Clothing. Dresses and Blouses in first place

  • Men's Clothing and Women's Trousers

What do you do to achieve customer satisfaction?

  • I hold meetings with the designers and quality sector to maintain the standard of the garments.

Are you currently undergoing training to improve your work?

  • No, I have been in the sector for many years and I prefer to stay in practice.

What is the difference between your confections and those of others?

  • Me centro principalmente en el acabado para que la prenda tenga el mejor aspecto posible.

How many people work with you in this activity?

  • There are 15 of us in the sewing workshop

What machinery do you use in garment manufacturing?

  • I use Straight Sewing Machine and Overlock Machine.

What is the quantity of garments you produce per month?

  • Depending on the product and amount of work required. I can do between 20 and 50 per month

Where do you buy the fabrics and materials for the garments?

  • The fabrics are mostly from Jaipur. We work with silk, cotton and rayon.

Who requires or requests your confections?

  • Clothing brands from Europe and America

What are your job expectations?

  • Continue sewing until I have my own workshop

What are the physical working conditions and wages like? Do children work?

  • In the workshop we are paid a salary that is regularised by the state and NO, the children do not work! It is not normal for children to work, here in the workshops I have been in I have not worked with children.
